The heart behind Little Explorers Daycare

A lifetime of caring for children

Childcare has always been part of Kimi’s life. As a second-generation childcare provider, she grew up understanding how much trust families place in the person caring for their child.

Over the past 25+ years, Kimi has cared for and taught young children through her own daycare and through her work with the Redwood City School District. She is also a mother of three adult children, all college graduates, which gives her both professional experience and a parent’s understanding of how important these early years are.

Impressive positive reviews

Playful care with loving guidance

Kimi’s care style is warm, active, and playful. Children at Little Explorers spend their days exploring, playing, moving, talking, laughing, and learning how to be part of a group.

Because young children are still learning how to share, listen, wait, use words, and handle big feelings, Kimi places a strong focus on positive guidance and conflict resolution. She helps children work through everyday moments with patience, clear expectations, and loving correction.

At Little Explorers, play is not separate from learning. It is how children build confidence, friendships, independence, language, problem-solving skills, and respect for others.

Why Little Explorers began

Kimi started Little Explorers to offer families the kind of childcare many parents hope to find: a safe, loving home setting where children receive steady attention, enjoy simple daily routines, and are treated with patience and care.

Her hope is that each child feels comfortable enough to explore, play, learn, and become more independent at their own pace.
